These terms cover this website. There is no product to subscribe to yet — if you join the early-access list, you are asking to be told when there is.
This site is run by an individual working from Amsterdam, the Netherlands — not a company. The name and postal address of the person responsible are available on request by email. Contact: info@womansplaining.app.
Womansplaining is an education project about female biology and gender inequality. Everything published here is built from published research, books and reporting, in our own words, with sources listed.
The examples on the site are written by us in advance. If you send us a sentence of your own, a person reads it and replies — usually within a few days, sometimes longer. It is a human writing back, not an automated service, and we make no promise about how fast.
Please do not send anything you would not want a stranger to read, and do not send information that identifies someone else. We will not help anyone build a case against a partner, and we will not reply to messages sent for that purpose.
Don’t use this site to harass anyone, to break the law, or to scrape, overload or attack it. We can stop replying to anyone who does.
What you write stays yours. By sending it you allow us to read it and reply. We may quote short, fully anonymised extracts to improve our writing or explain the problem publicly — never with anything that could identify you or your partner. If you would rather we did not, say so in your message and we will not.
Joining the list is free and commits you to nothing. It is not a purchase, and it does not guarantee a place, a price or a launch date. If we launch a paid product, separate terms will apply and you will see them before you pay anything.
The site is provided as it is. We do our best to be accurate and to source everything, but we cannot promise the information fits your situation, and we are not liable for decisions you make about your relationship or your health. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change. These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, and disputes go to the courts of Amsterdam. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protections of your own country’s law, or your right to bring a claim where you live.
